The Nisala Arana foundation in conjunction with the International Centre for Inner Peace & Happiness Inc (ICIPH) is currently raising funds to establish an urban meditation centre in Dandenong, Victoria, Australia.
This new meditation centre will allow us to conduct regular meditation and Dhamma programs. The establishment of a new meditation centre is a rare and auspicious occasion, which will provide a venue for dhamma practitioners to practise the dhamma ardently in a tranquil environment that is conducive to practice. A property has been partially secured for the meditation centre by paying an initial deposit, however we need to urgently collect a further $50 000 by the end of November 2022 in order to finalise the purchase of the property.
Even though this may seem like a large amount of funds to collect in a short period of time, we are confident that we can do it, if we all donate generously. Hence please feel free to donate whatever you can because every penny counts. I hope that we all donate generously to this project so that we can promote peace and harmony in our society and disseminate the Buddha Dhamma so that we can all practise well and attain enlightenment. We look forward to seeing you at the opening ceremony, for more information please contact Nisala Arana organisation for more details.

A disaster emergency relief centre for people living in the flood-prone villages is being constructed in Nisala Arana Monastery and International Meditation Centre, Sri Lanka.
The three-storey building will be equipped with dormitories, discussion/visitor rooms, library, study areas, research facilities and Bhante Punnaji museum, halls for emergency accommodation, and kitchen which will be able to serve food for flood victims.
During non-emergency periods, the Centre will be available for meditation retreats, dedicated to keep alive Bhante Dr. Madawela Punnaji’s tremendous contribution to the understanding and practice of the Buddha Dhamma. Bhante passed away here on July 27th 2018 and had a few last wishes:
1. Set up a Centre for Buddhist Studies, Research, Meditation and Humanitarian Services.
2. Set up a Trust Fund to support the Centre in (1) as well as for any other noble causes.
This fund raising will enable undertaker Nisala Arana Monastery and International Meditation Centre founded by Venerable Bodhicitta, a Buddhist nun of the Theravada tradition and one of Venerable Punnaji’s closest ordained disciples) to complete the construction work that is currently in progress, targeting completion for opening ceremony on 1-year anniversary of Bhante?s demise, on 27th July 2019.
It currently is suffering from funding shortfall that requires the urgent and generous support of well-wishers. Please use the GoFundMe link below to make a donation: or use the bank account to make direct deposits.
